What is the best macro lens for the Nikon D200?
I will use a detailed photography of farm machinery and antique tools (not for insects or flowers). I have the Nikon 35-70mm 2.8 is good for close-ups, but not going to 1:1 macro.
Why not try one of Nikon's close-up attachments? Here is a page on them: They are highly regarded http://www.mir.com.my/rb/photography/hardwares/classics/nikonf2/macro/index3a.htm and cost much less than a new lens. In his sharp 35-70 (not a goal so big?) They may do the trick. Hope this helps.
